Sc2 wings of liberty campaign upgrade#

Halfway through the first night, some Hellions arrive, as well as a Factory. They are weak, with only around 25 hit points, and they essentially die to whatever you can throw at them. During the first night, only Infested Terrans come. Your unit composition should primarily consist of a mix of Marauders and Marines. You will not need the second Vespene Geyser in your base. If you choose not to use Reapers, this mission is still very doable with Hellions. This is a great way to complete the mission faster and gain both the '28 Minutes Later' and 'Army Of Darkness' Achievements. However, as they are light units your Reapers will make short work of them. Aberrations will start to attack after several nights. The infested forces will periodically get attack and defense upgrades, but you should have 30 or more Reapers before the upgrades can do too much damage. During the last portion of night, some units will gather at the unused entrance. At this point, you should have cleared at least one third of the buildings, and attacks will be most concentrated at only two entrances. You should build a Sensor Tower behind your Refineries when this happens. Keep your Medics split evenly between the entrances, and shuffle your Reapers to whatever entrance needs help.ĭuring the third night, the Destructible Debris at the back of your base will fall, and units will begin coming in from all three paths. Despite this, having one or two at each entrance is a good idea. Though Firebats may seem very powerful, they get focused down by the Infested Marines and they die quickly. Build a mix of Medics, Firebats, and Reapers. On your way back, snipe the Infestors for the bonus objectives.ĭuring the second night, the Infested Terrans will be supplemented by Infested Marines. You can blow up buildings until the second night falls, but you should fall back at this time. You can expand here, but its unnecessary, and you will have to defend the expansion as well. When the first night is over, send your Reapers to the upper right and kill the buildings. During this time, you should build a second Refinery, and about 3-4 Barracks with Tech Labs (more if you have poor macro) and begin Reaper production. You do not need anything besides what has been provided for you. They will conceal themselves so your units can get out of your base, and are much more effective than Firebats, as they have a much larger area of attack and much higher damage. If they have been researched, build Perdition Turrets.

The range and damage upgrade is helpful, but unnecessary. On Hard and above, the units will dodge the Reaper's anti-personnel bombs, so this upgrade is not all that useful. The objectives are to kill light units and kill buildings, so there really isn't any reason to build anything besides Reapers. This mission is much more difficult without Reapers, so if possible, play the Devil's Playground mission first. The mission starts at Daytime, and it gives you a while to build up your forces and defenses before the Infested Terrans come. Daytime is around 3 minutes, and that's when you'll be moving out to attack, while Nighttime is around 5 minutes, and that's when you'll want to pull back and defend. There is a timer on the upper right corner of the screen that shows the time still remaining in the current cycle. There are two times during this mission: Daytime and Nighttime.
